![]() Kikiwa Lodge is located in the Northern part of the South Island of New Zealand, between Nelson (70 km's) and St Arnaud (20 km's) in the Nelson Lakes district. Centred in the heart of the Nelson region, amidst the unspoiled beauty of alpine rivers, lakes, mountains and National Parks, the Lodge provides a gateway to the many outdoor and recreational activities of the area. World class trout fishing, fair game hunting, golf, tramping, trekking and bush walks, horse riding, white water rafting, jet boating, launch trips and sightseeing, canoeing and kayaking, farm tours and 4 wheel drive adventures, and vineyard and craft tours. The setting 11 acres of land bordered by the Motupiko river, the Golden Downs forest and sheep, beef and dairy farms, all framed by blue mountain ranges.The Lodge was the farm homestead of Blue Glen Station, owned by the Kerr family, early pioneers of the area. The Lodge was built in 1914 by local craftsmen using beautiful native timbers milled on and around the property. In the last 10 years the Lodge has been completely but sensitively remodelled, retaining the character and ambience of the past but providing the comforts and facilities expected by the discerning traveller of today. The objectice is to provide quality boutique accommodation, fine cuisine and wines together with friendly personalised service, in a secluded and private setting, to anglers, hunters, discerning travellers and visiting business people. Country Charn aptly describes our 90 year old villa wrapped by a spacious veranda, enveloped in cottage gardens, lawns and shade trees. The sumptuous scent of our lavender plantation swelling in bloom, wafts through the air. The Lodge ... there are three recently refurbished, individually styled guest rooms, two with french doors to the verandah. Each room has top quality beds with designer 100% cotton bed linen, and an ensuite bathroom with shower, toilet, basin, complimentary toiletries and soaps made from the lavender grown on our property, heated towel rail, hairdryer and fan heater. ... you can relax in our large lounge with it's open fireplace or in the cosy sitting room reading or watching TV. Both these rooms have french doors opening to the verandah and garden. Dinner ... your taste buds with our four course gourmet dinner - the leanest meats and fresh, healthy local produce, accompanied by your choice of fine New Zealand wines from our cellar. Then relax in conversation enjoying chocolates and freshly brewed coffee, followed by a port or liqueur. ... is served at your convenience so that you can linger in the luxury of your bed. Enjoy more bounties of our region with a mouth-watering meal of juice, cereals, yogurt, fruit and a cooked course while you plan your day.
