Cascada Verde non-profit holistic lodge
Playa Uvita, Costa Rica

Cascada Verde is a holistic lodge and retreat hidden in tropical permaculture gardens overlooking the national marine park Bahia-Ballena. We are located between untouched mountain rainforest and tranquil beaches on the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica.

We are an educational non-profit organization promoting a sustainable way of life. Founded by Patrick Schindler, Cascada Verde is an ever-evolving conception created by people from many parts of the world who are coming to share their beings, practice simple living, meditate, create a loving atmosphere, and celebrate life.

The impressive three story lodge and the communal house were constructed with the help of volunteers from many different countries. These main structures were built using local river stones, sustainable harvested hardwood, terracotta, bamboo and other natural materials while creating a minimal impact on the environment.

Our lodge includes rustic private rooms, one shared room which sleeps up to five people, as well as loft space on the third floor. We also have a communal house which provides mixed dormitory-style accommodation. All guests have access to hot and cold showers and basic laundry facilities. We also have a pond for swimming (as long as you can share it with the ducks). A whole variety of meals, healthy snacks, and refreshing drinks are available at our living foods restaurant, Cocina Verde.

Cascada Verde is located between Manuel Antonio and the Osa Peninsula, just beyond the tiny Pacific Coast community of Playa Uvita de Osa. Playa Uvita is a typical farmers and fishers village at the South Pacific coast of Costa Rica and its called the door to the Osa Peninsula.
