Greenhill The Lodge is an opulent and tranquil private retreat steeped in local history located near Hastings in the heart of renowned Hawkes Bay wine country. Set among 12 hectares of park-like grounds it commands panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Greenhill is a lodge literally fit for a queen - indeed, the Queen Mother stayed here in 1958 during her tour of New Zealand. The restored manor features a large entrance hall with hand painted leadlights and carved archways, while the guests sitting room has a large log fire for warmth in the winter months. The main dining room, like all these rooms, has grand proportions and a stately charm. The fine guest accommodation enjoys a broad, north facing verandah overlooking the gardens. Greenhill is a unique example of high Victorian architecture. A spectacular three-storey viewing tower and wood panelled billiard room are prominent features for guests to experience.

One King Bed Ensuite marble bathroom. Garden views. All king rooms are luxuriously appointed with premium bed linen. Rooms have under floor heating in the marble tiled bathroom and a heat pump which provides central heating or alternatively air conditioning. Each room has egress to the verandah and gardens or alternatively the courtyard and pottager garden. Amenities include flat screen television, internet portals and tea and coffee making facilities.
King Suite:
One King bedroom and Sitting Room Twin bathrooms, Garden views. All king suites are luxuriously appointed with premium bed linen. Rooms have under floor heating in the marble tiled bathroom and a heat pump which provides central heating or alternatively air conditioning. Each suite has a sitting room and twin bathrooms. The lodge suite has egress to the verandah and gardens and the villa suite to decking and rural views. Amenities include flat screen television, internet portals and tea and coffee making facilities.
Little Greenhill:
King bed and two king single beds Fully self contained villa. Little Greenhill is a delightful villa independent of the main lodge with two bedrooms. The first has an ensuite bathroom, a King size bed and French doors which open on to a private deck complete with an outdoor bath for the adventurous. The second bedroom has two king single beds and is adjacent to the villas second bathroom. Both bedrooms are luxuriously appointed with premium bed linen. The elegant living area features a stone fireplace made from local greywacke river stone and comes equipped with flat screen television, DVD and stereo equipment. A dining area adjacent to the lounge has French doors which open on to expansive decking and rural views to die for! An alternate dining option is the outside barbecue area which has its own relaxed seating. Little Greenhill has a fully equipped kitchen so why not attend the local produce markets, visit the local wineries and cook yourself a gourmet delight? An outdoor shed is stacked with firewood and houses mountain bikes for riding in the grounds or exploring the countryside.The villa sleeps a maximum of four people and children are welcome.

General- Greenhill The Lodge is located approximately 15 km South West of Hastings. The key to finding the lodge is to locate Bridge Pa Township on Maraekakaho Road. Within Bridge Pa Township you will see the large white Church of the Latter Day Saints. On the opposite side of the road to the church you will notice a road sign for Raukawa Road. Turn into Raukawa Road and drive for approximately five minutes. The first road on your left is Greenhill Road. Turn into Greenhill Road, drive through the avenue of oak trees and continue to the top of the hill where you will see the lodge. Driving instructions from Auckland- Approximately 460 km, Time 5.5 hours Following SH1 you will pass through Hamilton, Cambridge, Tirau, and Taupo. Just south of Taupo turn left into SH5 in the direction of Napier. At the end of SH5 you will turn right at the T intersection with SH2 in the direction of Napier. As you approach Napier you will pass the Hawkes Bay Airport on your right. Immediately after the airport the road you are on becomes SH2B, continue on this road through a series of roundabouts in the direction of Hastings. Follow the signs to Hastings and note the road you are on changes to SH50 and then to SH50A. You will reach a roundabout intersection with Omahu Road. Here you will ignore the sign to Hastings and pass straight through the intersection following the sign for Waipukurau/Welligton. Continuing on SH50A you will veer left at the next roundabout and soon reach a T intersection with Maraekakaho Road where you will turn right. Follow this section of road for about 3 km to the next roundabout at the intersection with Longlands Road. At this roundabout you will turn right in the direction of Bridge Pa /SH50/. You will pass Hastings Golf Club and Hastings Aerodrome on your right and soon enter Bridge Pa Township. Within Bridge Pa Township you will see the large white Church of the Latter Day Saints. Follow this road /Pakipaki Road/ until you reach the first roundabout signposted Bridge Pa /SH50/. Turn left here into Maraekakaho Road. Dinner at Greenhill is a table d'hote of four courses. The menu is checked with guests for any dislikes or special dietary requirements. The cost of dinner is included in the daily tariff. The surrounding area boasts an abundance of tantalising produce, including seafood, meat, fruit and of course our own garden fresh herbs. Our style is to feature local produce, to follow the seasons and to complement dishes with our internationally renowned Hawkes Bay wines.
