Get away from it all and immerse yourself in creativity. Learn a new skill or develop an old one.

We offer a range of courses from woodwork to textiles.... or if you can't be bothered, just come and relax.

Transformations is situated close to the Murray River, 32 kilometres from Echuca. Our facilities include a gallery, woodwork shed, metalwork shed and attic studio.

We offer personalised workshops in wood turning, heirloom box making, model engineering and metal work.

Tuition in patchwork and cloth doll making are also available.

Couples can mix and match activities if they wish.
simply treat yourselves to a special experience that combines this remarkable natural setting with luxury and indulgence. Come and enjoy the peace and beauty on your doorstep. There's something to suit everyone; from fishing, boating, bushwalking, bird watching and waterskiing to a romantic stroll along country tracks. And in the evening a quiet drink, maybe toasting marshmellows on an open fire, with the moonlight reflected on the water's edge.


Transformations is situated on 80 acres of tranquil and secluded country farmland. It is a virtual island, surrounded by rivers, creeks and lagoons. Just 20 minutes from Echuca, off the Murray Valley Highway.

Accommodation is provided in a charming 100 year old mud brick cottage with a difference. There are two comfortable double rooms and a shared sitting room with an open log fire. It features cathedral ceilings, leadlight windows, spa, spiral staircase and attic studio.

Evenings are a delight. Clear skies provide opportunities to enjoy the southern constellations with a brilliance that amaze city folk. For a heavenly experience, set up our telescope by the river side, relax, spot the stars and trace the satellites . Enjoy a unique experience.

Healthy country breakfasts and lunch are provided as part of the course package.

Home country style evening meals are available on request.

The Courses

Described below are our basic courses. These assume no (or very little) prior knowledge. If you have prior knowledge and experience in an area, talk to us about more advanced options.

Wood Turning: Learn the skills of wood turning, from knowledge of the equipment and safety, to spindle and face plate turning. Gain practical skills using the lathe. Design your own simple projects, for example candle holders, bowls or whatever.

Heirloom Box Making: Learn the skills involved in creating something special. Learn about design and construction as you create your own unique heirloom. Emphasis is on what you can do without expensive machinery, using ordinary hand tools.

Model Engineering: Take the opportunity to learn the basics by using a metal lathe, and/or milling machine

Patchwork: Learn the basic skills of creating a block or blocks of your choice. Explore the history of patchwork and understand how these styles came about. experiment with different types of blocks. Choose from log cabin, nine patch, flying geese, etc. These blocks will form the basis of a quilt or wall hanging.

Appliqué: Learn the basics of appliqué. Experiment with different appliqué techniques. Images provided include a gum tree, windmill, farm animals, etc. Over the weekend, you will construct enough blocks for a small quilt or wall hanging. Select your designs or be more adventurous and design your own images. The beauty of this project is that you don't have to be exact, in fact, less than perfect adds to its appeal.

Doll Making: Three patterns to choose from. Learn the basic doll making techniques and get the courage to extend your skills at home. At a basic level skills include working with a simple pattern, sewing techniques and turning, different methods of filling, face painting and embellishments. If you work hard, you will take a creation home.
